Lead licensing in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania requires lead abatement work, meaning long-term removal or fixing of lead paint in certain older homes, to be done by people certified by the Department of Labor & Industry, and abatement contractors are certified as well. Ordinary renovation or painting that disturbs old paint falls under EPA's Lead-Safe program. The department posts lists of certified contractors and individuals, and EPA has a firm locator. Check the agencies' sites for current requirements.
