Asbestos licensing in Florida
Florida requires a state license from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation for asbestos contractors, who remove or encapsulate asbestos-containing materials, and for asbestos consultants, who survey and write abatement plans. State law has limited exemptions, including for some owner-occupied homes where the owner signs the permit application. Look up the license on record using the DBPR license search, and check the agency's site for current requirements and exemptions.
