Asbestos licensing in Montana
Montana requires asbestos work to be done by people accredited by the Department of Environmental Quality. When a project reaches the state's trigger amounts, the owner or operator must use a Montana-accredited asbestos contractor, and buildings must be inspected by an accredited inspector before renovation or demolition. The department's accredited contractor search lists only contractors who agreed to be published, so check the accreditation on record and the department's site for current requirements.
