Asbestos licensing in Maryland
Maryland says a business may not carry out an asbestos project unless it holds an asbestos license from the Maryland Department of the Environment. The license lasts one year and requires approved training and passing a state exam, and individual workers and supervisors need accreditation as well. The department also requires advance notice before removing regulated asbestos-containing material. We did not find a public contractor roster, so ask for the license on record and check the department's site for current requirements.
