Asbestos licensing in North Dakota

North Dakota's Department of Environmental Quality licenses asbestos abatement contractors and certifies the individuals who do the work, including workers, supervisors and inspectors. Before a renovation or demolition, a state-certified inspector must check the affected areas, and regulated asbestos material must be removed by state-certified individuals. We did not find a public roster, so ask for the license on record and check the department's site for current requirements and any exemptions for your project.

Lead licensing in North Dakota

North Dakota has two paths for lead-based paint work in homes and child-occupied facilities. Companies and individuals who do lead testing and abatement must be certified or approved by the state Department of Environmental Quality, which posts a list of approved abatement firms. Renovation firms and renovators are instead certified by EPA under the federal Lead-Safe program. Check the agencies' sites for current requirements.
