Lead licensing in Ohio
Ohio licenses lead abatement professionals through the Department of Health, including abatement contractors and workers, inspectors, risk assessors and project designers. Ordinary renovation or painting that disturbs old paint in a pre-1978 home falls under EPA's Lead-Safe program instead. Use the department's environmental licensing search to check the license on record, and EPA's firm locator for renovation firms. Check the agencies' sites for current requirements.
