Asbestos licensing in Rhode Island
Rhode Island law says no person or company may undertake an asbestos abatement project without a state license, and the contractor's abatement plan must be approved. Building or demolition permits involving asbestos abatement require a copy of the approved plan and the contractor's license. The Department of Health handles the contractor application. We did not find a public roster, so ask for the license on record and check the department's site for current requirements.
