Asbestos licensing in Ohio
Ohio requires asbestos abatement contractors to hold a license from Ohio EPA when a project involves more than 50 linear or 50 square feet of friable asbestos, and the individuals doing the work must be certified. Ohio EPA says a homeowner doing their own work at a single-family home does not file a notification, but a contractor doing larger work must hold the license. Use Ohio's license look-up to check what is on record, and check the agency's site for current requirements.
