Asbestos licensing in Minnesota
Minnesota requires anyone doing asbestos-related work to hold a license from the Department of Health, including a contractor who subcontracts the work. Projects in residences trigger the license at smaller amounts than in other buildings. State law excuses the owner of a single-family home from licensing when working in the home where they live. Use the department's online licensing search to check the license on record, and check the department's site for current requirements.
