Asbestos licensing in Hawaii
Hawaii requires asbestos abatement contractors to be registered with the Department of Health and to hold a state contractor license for asbestos abatement. The department also registers consultants, laboratories and training providers. Its rules leave out residences with four or fewer total dwellings, though federal and other requirements may still apply. The department posts a list of registered asbestos contractors with license numbers and expiration dates, which is a periodic list rather than a live search. Check the department's site for current requirements.
