Georgia requires asbestos abatement contractor firms to hold a license from the Environmental Protection Division before removing friable asbestos on projects over 10 square feet or 10 linear feet. The division does not license individual asbestos inspectors, though they need current training from an accredited provider. Mold licensing in Georgia

Georgia does not have a state license or certification program for mold inspectors or remediators. The Department of Public Health says indoor air quality is not a regulated program and that mold inspection, testing and remediation have no enforceable state or federal standards. Lead licensing in Georgia

Georgia runs its own lead programs instead of EPA's. Firms doing renovation, repair or painting in homes built before 1978 need Georgia Environmental Protection Division certification for the firm and a certified renovator, and lead abatement firms and individuals are certified by the same division. The division posts lists of certified firms and individuals but warns they are not updated regularly. Radon licensing in Georgia

Georgia does not have a state license or certification requirement for radon testers or mitigators. The University of Georgia's radon program, which is Georgia's state radon contact, says there are no laws requiring mitigator certification, but recommends using one who holds a national certification such as NRPP or NRSB. Ask any company about its credentials and check state agency and university sites for current information.
