Asbestos licensing in Wyoming

Wyoming does not license or register asbestos companies or individuals. The Department of Environmental Quality does require every person performing or supervising an asbestos project to have a current training certificate on site, from a provider accredited through another agency's program. The state's rules do not require homeowners to get an asbestos inspection before work on a private residence. Ask to see the certificates and check the department's site for current requirements.

Lead licensing in Wyoming

Wyoming has no state lead certification program, so EPA handles both the renovation rule and lead abatement. A firm renovating, repairing or painting a pre-1978 home or child-occupied facility should be an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm with a certified renovator, and lead abatement and risk assessment professionals are certified by EPA. EPA's Lead-Safe Certified Firm locator shows the certification on record. Check EPA's site for current requirements.
