Asbestos licensing in Louisiana
Louisiana requires people who work with asbestos to be trained and accredited by the Department of Environmental Quality, as workers, contractor/supervisors or inspectors. A contractor doing asbestos removal or abatement also needs a Hazardous Materials license from the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, which relies on the department's asbestos certification. The department posts lists of accredited individuals, so you can check the accreditation on record. Check both agencies' sites for current requirements.
