Lead licensing in Iowa
Iowa certifies lead professionals through the Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing, including inspectors, risk assessors, abatement contractors and workers, and lead-safe renovators. A company that does renovation in older homes must be certified as a lead-safe renovator firm and assign a certified renovator to each job. Firms that employ certified lead professionals must be certified too. Use the department's lists and record search to check what is on record, and check its site for current requirements.
