Lead licensing in Wisconsin
Wisconsin requires training and certification to work with lead-based paint in houses and child care centers built before 1978, and both the individual and the company must be certified, even if you work for yourself. Covered work includes lead abatement and renovations that disturb paint. The Department of Health Services has a Find a Lead-Safe Company map of certified companies, so you can check the certification on record. Check the department's site for current requirements.
