Lead licensing in California
California certifies lead abatement workers, supervisors, inspectors and related lead-related construction roles through the Department of Public Health. For ordinary renovation or painting in a home built before 1978, California follows EPA's federal Lead-Safe program, where the firm is certified by EPA. Look up individuals in CDPH's index of lead-certified professionals, and firms in EPA's Lead-Safe Certified Firm locator. The agencies' lists can lag, so confirm with them and check their sites for current requirements.
