Asbestos licensing in California
In California, contractors who disturb 100 square feet or more of asbestos-containing material need a C-22 asbestos abatement classification (or a CSLB asbestos certification) and a Cal/OSHA asbestos registration. Individual asbestos consultants and site technicians are certified by Cal/OSHA. CSLB license numbers are digits only, up to eight. Look up the license on record at CSLB, and the registration in Cal/OSHA's asbestos registrants database. Smaller jobs follow different rules, so check the agencies' sites for current requirements.
