Mold licensing in California
California does not have a state license, training or certification requirement for mold inspectors or remediators, so a mold-specific credential is not something the state can confirm. Work that counts as construction or improvement of $500 or more in labor and materials generally needs a California contractor license, which you can look up on the Contractors State License Board site. Some companies hold voluntary national credentials. Ask for details in writing and check the agencies' sites for current requirements.
