Asbestos licensing in Virginia
Virginia licenses asbestos contractors and the individuals who do asbestos work, including supervisors, inspectors and workers, through the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Contractors also need the matching asbestos specialty on a state contractor license. You can check a license, its status and any disciplinary action on DPOR's License Lookup. Look up the license on record, and check the agency's site for current requirements.
