Asbestos licensing in Tennessee
Tennessee accredits asbestos firms and individuals through the Department of Environment and Conservation, and its rule says only Tennessee-accredited people may do asbestos work in schools and in public and commercial buildings. Firms are accredited for three years. The rule's focus on those building types means a private home may fall outside it, though federal rules can still apply. Use the department's firm lookup to check the accreditation on record, and check the department's site for current requirements.
