Asbestos licensing in District of Columbia

In the District of Columbia, asbestos abatement businesses need a District business license and a Clean Hands certificate, and DOEE issues permits for regulated abatement projects to contractors with the required credentials. Asbestos workers and supervisors should hold a District-issued license. DOEE's asbestos program leaves out residential buildings with four or fewer dwelling units, including single-family homes, though federal and other rules may still apply. We did not find a public roster, so ask for the license on record and check DOEE's site for current requirements.
