Lead licensing in Georgia
Georgia runs its own lead programs instead of EPA's. Firms doing renovation, repair or painting in homes built before 1978 need Georgia Environmental Protection Division certification for the firm and a certified renovator, and lead abatement firms and individuals are certified by the same division. The division posts lists of certified firms and individuals but warns they are not updated regularly. Ask for proof of the certification on record, and check the agency's site for current requirements.
