Lead licensing in Arkansas
Arkansas requires lead-based paint abatement work in homes built before 1978, and in child-occupied facilities, to be done by people and firms certified or holding a license from the Arkansas Department of Health. Ordinary renovation, repair and painting that disturbs old paint falls under EPA's federal Lead-Safe program instead, which the state health department says it does not run. The department posts lists of accredited companies and personnel, and EPA has a locator for renovation firms. Check the agencies' sites for current requirements.
