Mold licensing in Illinois
Illinois does not currently require a state license for mold work, but a Mold Remediation Registration Act is in the works. Once in effect, it would require mold remediation providers to register with the Department of Public Health, showing a national certification and proof of insurance. The department's page says registration is not required until its rules are adopted. Because this is changing, check the Illinois Department of Public Health site for current requirements before hiring.
