Mold licensing in Texas
Texas is one of the few states that requires a state license for mold work. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation licenses mold assessors and mold remediators, and the same company generally cannot do both on a project. Owners working on their own property and cleanups under 25 contiguous square feet are exempt under state law. Use TDLR's license search to check the license on record, including its type and expiration. Check the agency's site for current requirements.
